Ms. April Jean Brawley, age 73, of 4035 Woodleaf Barber Rd., Cleveland, passed, Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at her residence. She was born in Iredell County on April 24, 1943, to the late James and Pheobe McConneyhead. She attended the public schools of Iredell County and was a homemaker. She was a member of Cedar Grove AME Zion Church.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Junior McConneyhead; a brother, Ralph James; and a sister, Mildred Henderson.

Survivors include her daughter, Shirley B. Parker (Troy), Salisbury; brother-in-law, James Henderson-Charlotte; dear friend and caretaker, Libby Blackwell; one grandchild; and host of cousins and friends.

Arrangements: Visitation at 11:30 a.m., Funeral: 12 p.m.,on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at Cedar Grove AME Zion Church. Rev. Dr. Bertha Pittman, pastor/officiating.  Eulogist, Pastor Beatrice Vaughter, Ambassador for Jesus Christ Church, Cleveland, NC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
