Mrs. Arizona H. Hairston, age, 95, of Frank Hulin Road, Lexington, passed, Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Austin Brooks Nursing Home in Lexington, NC.  Mrs. Hairston was born in Davidson County on, March 29, 1920 to the late Peter Hairston and Ever Brown Hairston. In addition to her parent's, she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence ("Bub") Hairston, Sr., daughter's Rebecca Ann Hairston and Mary Louise King, one grandson C.T. Hairston, III, four brothers and three sisters..  She was educated in the public schools of Davidson County and attended Davidson Community College for adult education.  She retired from Dixie Furniture Company, Lexington, NC. She was a life time member of Buncombe Baptist Church, where she served on the following ministries, Deaconess, a member of the Spiritual Choir, Missionaries, Pastor's Aide, Culinary, Usher, and the Willing Workers Club Treasurer.  She was a "Mother of the Church", and a member of the National Hairston Clan, Petersville Community and Southside Senior Citizens Club.

Those who shall forever share fond memories are, sons, Roger W. Hairston, and Rev. Clarence Hairston, Jr. of the home; daughter's, Rosie M. Bethea, Winston-Salem, NC, Ever Lee Hairston, Los Angeles, California and Verona H. Bell (Bobby), Lexington, NC; reared in the home, Eric (Cassandra) King, Chesapeake, Va., and granddaughter, Tracy (Ronnie) Beverly, Lexington, NC;  sisters, Naomi Sims, Lexington, NC, Savannah Davis, Lexington, NC and Pastor Betty Burke, Vineland, New Jersey, two sister-in-laws, Annie R. Hairston of Winston-Salem, NC and Nora J. Hairston, of Lexington, NC; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Service:  Wednesday, November 11, 2015. Family Visitation: 12:00 p.m.  Funeral 1:00 p.m., Buncombe Baptist Church, Lexington, NC; Rev. Maurice Maxwell, Pastor, eulogist.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
