Ms. Clouris Paulette Brown, age 67, entered into eternal life on, Sunday, July 10, 2016.  She was born in Rowan County on, February 1, 1949 to Lessie Wood and the late Carl E. Wood, Sr.  She graduated from Dunbar High School, “Class of 1967”, and earned an Associate Degree in Business from Salisbury Business College.  She retired from PPG in Lexington, NC as a Twist Frame Operator.

A dedicated member of New Hope A.M.E. Zion Church, she served as an Usher, a member of the Choir, Stewardess Board, Lay Council and Chairperson of the Supply Department.

Those who will forever cherish fond memories of her are her children; son, Derick A. Brown & wife, Alaina of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Devona A. Brown of Baltimore, MD.; brothers; Carl E. Wood, Jr., of East Spencer, Gary Wood of Salisbury; Darryl Wood of Atlanta, Ga., sisters; Reta Wood of East Spencer, Linda Thompson & husband, Palmer of Atlanta, Ga., and Lisa Tranumn, of Spencer, NC; two grandchildren, Darius and Demetrius; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Service:  Saturday, July 16, 2016.  Visitation: 2:30 p.m. followed by funeral service at 3:00 p.m., at New Hope AME Zion Church, 1470 N. Long Street, East Spencer,  NC.  Pastor, Rev. Debra J. Hall, officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
