On Thursday, October 13, 2016, Diane F.Lingard was called home to glory at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC.  She  was born in Salisbury, NC to to late, Frank Johnson and Alice Branch Johnson.  At the age of 5, her mother perished, and shortly, thereafter, Diane and her father moved to Brooklyn, New York.  From an early age, she showed great interest in helping others.  She graduated high school in New York and worked in the health care field as a CNA.

 On March 15th, 1952, she married James Linguard.  They birthed four lovely children together; one son, James, and three girl's, Tonya, Shirelle and Joy, who later blessed her with 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  Diane later moved to Salisbury, NC, where she continued her career as a CNA and later retired at the age of 62.

Her final years were filled with much joy, laughter and love.

Survivors include her son, James Lingard of Jacksonville, NC; three daughter's; Tonya Lingard, Shirelle (Jerry) Lingard and Joy Lingard (Alfred) all of Salisbury; 11 grand children, 5 great-grand children, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be held on, Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Rowan Memorial Park Chapel at 1:00 p.m..  Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park Cemetery.  Bishop Christopher Brown, officiant and eulogist.
