Ms. Eleanor Maima Johnson Okai, age 66, passed, Thursday, August 4, 2016 at CMC-Main, Charlotte, NC Ms. Okai was born on November 8, 1949 in Monrovia, Liberia to the late Johnny Johnson, Sr., and Jambee Kiazolu. She attended the public schools of Monrovia and the Booker T. Washington Institute in Kakta, Liberia. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant. She attended Rowan International Church, Salisbury, where she served as Secretary. She also attended University City Church in Charlotte, NC.
She is survived by her son, Moseray Cole, Salisbury; daughter Jambee Thomas, Charlotte, NC; brother, James (Ophelia) Paul, Salisbury; sisters; Bertha (William) Cooper, and Juanita (Phillip) Wreah, all of Atlanta, Ga., and Marywood Gray, Providence, Rhode Island; 4 grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on, Friday, August 19, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Rowan International Church, 1709 N. Lee St., Salisbury, NC. At other times, the family will meet at the home of James & Ophelia Paul, 175 Magnolia Circle, Salisbury, NC.
Funeral Service will be held on, Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Rowan International Church, Pastor Edmond Ramble, Sr. Officiating. Burial will follow in Rowan Memorial Park.
