Mr. George Edward Hargrave, age 87 of Salisbury, passed, Monday, January 15, 2018 at Novant Health Rowan Regional Hospital. He was born in Rowan County on, March 23, 1930 to the late Theodore Hargrave and Willie Mae Johnson Hargrave.  He was educated in the Salisbury/Rowan County public schools.  He retired from Flowers Baking Company.

In addition to his parent's; brothers, John Louis, Raymond, James, William, Richard and sisters; Theodosia, Josephine, Maytroy, Anna Marie and Nancy preceded him in death.

Those who will cherish his memory are his wife, Ida Hunter Hargrave, Salisbury; daughter, Karen Hargrave, Salisbury; son, Clinton Little, Charlotte, step-daughter's, Brenda Coan, Priscilla Hunter and Sheila Hunter all of Salisbury; sister's Jeanette, Bronx, NY and Carrie, Salisbury;17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial service will be held on, Monday, January 22, 2018 at Hairston Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation: 12:00 p.m.and memorial service: 12:30 p.m.. Rev. Ruby Steele, presiding.  Rev. Jerry Miller,eulogist.  Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. with military honors at the US National Cemetery, 202 Government Road, Salisbury.
