Theodore W. Sifford, Jr., age 64., better known as “Ted” to his northern family and “June” to his southern family, was the eldest of (3) children to Theodore W. Sifford, Sr., and the late Essie M. Sifford of Granite Quarry, North Carolina.  He was born in June 1952 and went home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2017.

Ted completed early education in his home state of North Carolina, having graduated from East Rowan High School.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1970-1974 and graduated from North Carolina A&T State University as a proud Aggie in 1978.  He moved to Delaware that year where he accepted a position as a Food Service Director with the University of Delaware.  During his years of service, he helped many people and forged numerous lifelong friendships, including that of a very special employee and the love of his life, Brenda E. Chandler.  They wed in Holy Matrimony on July 27, 1985.  From this union, they had two (2) children.

After he retired from the University in May of 2009, Ted went on to work with the State of Delaware at Governor Bacon Health Center for several years as a Food Service Supervisor.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his loving wife, Brenda; their children, Michelle and Cassandra; grandchildren, Chantel, Kenneth, Jinai and Niklya; father Theordore; sisters, Monica and Jennifer.
