Mr. Theodore W. Sifford, Sr., age 86 of Granite Quarry, passed on, Friday, December 8, 2017 at the W.G. Bill Hefner VA Medical Center, Salisbury. He was born in Rowan County on May 27, 1931 to the late Ford and Sara Ellis Sifford. He was a graduate of Dunbar High School. He was a Veteran having served in the United States Army. He retired from the W.G. Bill Hefner VA Medical Center. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Mt. Ulla, NC all of his life. He was chairman of the deacon board, former church treasurer and a member of the Jubilee Choir.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Essie Mae Sifford, son, Theodore W. Sifford, Jr., sisters; Mary E. Williams; Annie L. Sifford, Elizabeth S. Turner, Olean S. Cook, Barbara S. Ruff and Ruth M Sifford; brothers, Kizer W. Sifford, Sr., and Deacon James (Jimmy) Sifford.

Suvivors include; daughters', Jennifer Sifford,(of the home), and Monica Parker (George), Salisbury; brothers; Willie B. Sifford, Sr. (Mae Frances), Faith, NC, and Ford V. Sifford, Jr. (Patricia), Granite Quarry; sister, Sara S. Charleston (John), Granite Quarry; two grandchidlren and five great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Brenda Sifford, Newark, Del, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral service will be held on, Friday, December 15, 2017 at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation-11:30 a.m. and Funeral at 12:00. Rev. Ethel Bamberg- Revis eulogist.  Interment with military honors will be held on, Monday, December 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., at the US National Cemetery.
