Henzly Nathaniel Harrison born in Cleveland O.H. April 19, 1945, passed away on November 30, 2023, in Pineville, N.C. He was born to Viola Self Harrison and Otis Harrison. Henzly Harrison was predeceased by his mother, father, and siblings, Dorothy Taylor, Nellie Kinsler, Luther Brown and Mamie Harrison, and a son Dooley Little.
Mr. Harrison was inducted in the United States Army, and was honorably discharged on July 12, 1967. He was decorated with the Purple Heart Medal; National Defense Service Medal; and Vietnam Service Medal. He later worked for the post office and drove trucks for a living.
Mr. Harrison is survived by his children Michael Smith, Christopher White, Tony Harrison, Nicole Obi-Harrison and JoAnna Fox. He left behind many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Mr. Harrison enjoyed writing poems and drawing. And was a member of many clubs and organizations at W.G. (Bill) Hefner Salisbury Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Mr. Harrison was charismatic and fashionable; he was very warm hearted and caring. In his final years Mr. Harrison continued to make many new friends and help those in need. Mr. Harrison was deeply loved, valued and will be truly missed.
Committal service with military rites will be held on, Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the US National Cemetery located at 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC.
