Mr. Sterling Franklin Primus of Salisbury, passed away, Thursday, April 11th, 2024 at the
Veteran’s Hospice Facility in Salisbury, NC. He was born in Catawba County on July 16th, 1943, to
the late, William D. Primus and Dorothy I. Morrison Primus. He was a Vietnam War Veteran
in the United States Army. As an active member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, he
faithfully served as a church greeter, a position he truly loved. After 21 years, he retired from the NC
Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer, Seargent.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, William Primus and James
Primus; sisters, Mary Primus, Dorothy A. Primus and his beloved grandson, Nathan A. Hunt.
His loving smile, kind heart, fatherly love, commitment to helping others, and his beautiful
personality will be greatly missed by his children; Eric D. Hunt, (Cheryl) of Rosharon, Texas;
JeVone Primus (Kadee) of Mooresville, NC; Lenual Primus of St. Petersburg, Florida, Anita
Gore of Hickory, NC; and Clarice Milliken of Greensboro, NC. Sister, Judy Smith of Waynesville,
NC. His 7 grandchildren, and his many nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends.
Service to be held on: Saturday, April 20th, 2024,12:30 visitation. Funeral begins promptly at 1:00 p.m. at
Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, 719 S. Caldwell St., Salisbury, NC. Rev. Dr. Roy
Dennis, pastor/eulogist.
Committal service with military rites will be held on, Friday, May 3rd, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the
US National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury, NC.
