William Wilson, Jr.

Mr. William Wilson, Jr., age 90 of Salisbury, passed on, Saturday, January 20, 2024. He was born on July 3, 1933 in Cleveland County to the late Gamewell Smith and Virgie Mae Wilson. He was educated in the public schools of Cleveland County and was last employed in maintenance at Wal Mart.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a daughter, Mary Ann Haynes, son, George E. Maxwell, and great-grandson, DeMarcus Maxwell.

Those who will forever cherish fond memories are his devoted wife, Mildred Maxwell Wilson of the home, daughters; Naomi Maxwell Houston, Rosa Maxwell Green and Patricia Ann Maxwell; sisters; Mae Harper and Wyomia Jefferson (Johnnie). 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Celebration of life service: Saturday, January 27, 2024, 11:30 a.m.-Hairston Funeral Home, Inc., 703 S. Main St., Salisbury. Visitation: 30 minutes prior to service.  At other times, the family will receive guests at the home, located at 312 Harrel St., Salisbury.
