Grace (Mallett) Goins

Mrs. Grace Mallett Goins, age 95, of Salisbury, passed, March 31, 2018 at Liberty Commons Nursing Home. She was born in Anderson, SC on, February 20, 1923 to the late Everlener McCurry Miller. She attended the public schools of Rowan county, and was a retired domestic worker. She was a dedicated member of Southern City Tabernacle A.M.E. Zion Church, where she served as a missionary, deaconess, a member of the Lay Council, Kitchen Committee, Stewardess Board and Usher Board. She was a mother of the church.

She is also preceded in death by her husband, George Goins and a son, Larry Mallett.

Cherished memories remain with her son, Garry Mallett (Mayor Barbara Mallett), E. Spencer, daughters; Jean Hubbard, Jamaica, NY and Patricia Ann Mallett, E. Spencer; fifteen grandchildren and a host of great-grand children, other relatives and friends.

Service: Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Southern City Tabernacle A.M.E. Zion Church. Visitation: 2:30 p.m. Funeral: 3:00 p.m. Rev. Patrick Tate, pastor/eulogist. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of her son, and daughter-in-law , Garry Mallett and Mayor Barbara Mallett, Hairston Funeral Home, Inc., is serving the Goins/Mallett families.
