Mrs. Ida Hunter Hargrave, age 79 of Salisbury, passed, Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at her residence 1108 Crosby St., Salisbury. She was born in Mecklenburg County on, January 2, 1939 to the late, Herbert A. Hunter and Cory Stinson Hunter. She was educated in the Rowan County Public Schools. She retired as a weaver with Pillow Tex. She was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a missionary.
In addition to her parents, her husband, George Hargrave (January 2018), a son, Christoper Hunter, a sister, Nancy Ella Hunter, brothers, Albert Hunter, James Hunter, Daniel Hunter, Calvin Hunter, Oscar Hunter; half sister-May Zella Forney and brother-in-law, Richard Salters all preceded her in death.
Precious memories remain with her daughter's, Brenda Coan (Dennis), Priscilla Hunter, Sheila Hunter (Dennis) and Karen Hargrave (Jarius), all of Salisbury; brothers; Alonzo Hunter (Rachel), East Spencer and Bernard Hunter (Emma), Salisbury; sisters, Mabel Burns, Estell Salters, and Margaret Hunter all of Roanoke, Va.; 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3, great-great-grandchildren.
Service: Sunday, March 18, 2018. Visitation: 1:30 p.m, Funeral: 2:00 p.m., at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1920 Shirley Ave., Salisbury. Rev. Dr. Nilous Avery, pastor, officiating.
Committal service will be held 11:00 a.m., on, Monday, March 19, 2018 at the U.S. National Cemetery, 202 Government Road, Salisbury.
