James-"Bear" McLaughlin, Jr.

Mr. James "Bear"McLaughlin, Jr., age 74 of Salisbury, passed Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center. He was born in Richmond County on, August 5, 1943 to the late James McLaughlin, Sr., and Lillie Davis McLaughlin.  He was educated in the public schools of Richmond County and was last employed as a fixer at Cone Mills.

In addition to his parents, a brother, Bill Ray McLaughlin and sisters, Marie Gamble, Geneva McLaughlin and Diane McLaughlin preceded him in death.

Those who will forever cherish his memory are his son, Michael McLaughlin,daughters; Phyllis Woods-Melton (Tyrone), Barbara Woods, and Crystal Woods all of Salisbury; brothers;, Leon McLaughlin, Salisbury and Melvin McLaughlin, Brooklyn, NY; sisters; Pecolia McLaughlin, Christine Reid (Jeffrey), of Salisbury and Dorothy McLaughlin, Brooklyn, NY; eight grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews other extended relatives and friends.

Graveside service to be held on, Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 12:00 p.m., at Rowan Memorial Park.  Hairston Funeral Home is Serving the McLaughlin family.  At other times, the family will be at the residence, 43 Cedar St., Salisbury NC.
