Mamie Graham Obituary

Mrs. Mamie Elizabeth Tate Graham, age 94, passed, Friday, November 9, 2018 at her residence.  She was born, April 18, 1924 in Gainesville, Ga., the daughter of the late Crawford Tate and Mamie Jackson Tate.  She was a graduate of JC Price High School, Salisbury, North Carolina and lived in Salisbury most of her life.

She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Salisbury, where she served on the Deaconess and Missionary ministries; the Links of Gold and was frequently the first to arrive for Sunday School until health began to fail..

In addition to her parents, her husband, Solomon Graham (1993), daughter, Mamie E. Foster, brother, Monroe Tate and sister, Christine Murdock, all preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Sulaiman Muhammad (Aisha), Cleveland, Ohio, 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Claudine Neely, Salisbury, nieces, Alice Gaston, New York City, Barbara Ann Heilig and Tonya Ellis, both of Salisbury, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Service:  Thursday, November 15, 2018, 1:30 p.m., at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1920 Shirley Ave., Salisbury, NC, Rev. Dr. Nilous Avery pastor/eulogist.  Burial will follow in Rowan Memorial Park.
