Mr. Albert Richard Redd, Sr., 70, 429 Best St.,Salisbury, NC died Sunday at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, NC. He was born November 5, 1937 in Salisbury to the late Alonzo and Mary Jane White Redd, Sr.

He was a graduate of J. C. Price High School. He retired from Lyon Shaw as a Supervisor.

He was a member of Soldiers Memorial AME Zion Church, Salisbury, NC.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a son, Albert R. Redd, Jr., brothers, Alonzo Redd, Jr. and Herman Redd.

Those who shall forever cherish his memory are his wife, Diedre Fantt Redd of the home; son, Robert Redd, Salisbury, NC; step sons, Donald Fantt, Eric Myers (Charlesetta) and Johnnie Myers (Netta) all of Jacksonville, FL; sister-in-law, Eidre Fantt, Salisbury, NC; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral will be 1:00 pm and visitation 12:30 pm Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Soldiers Memorial AME Zion Church and burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Grant Harrison, Pastor, Rev. Mary Hardin, Eulogist and officiating.
