Mr. Alvin Norvell Brown, age 29, affectionately called "Illy Al" of 1515 South Salisbury Ave., Apt. 11, Spencer, NC died Tuesday at Rowan Regional Medical Center. Mr. Brown was born July 26, 1977, in Salisbury to Betty Brown and the late Walter Howell, Sr. He attended Salisbury High School and was last employed at Bojangles Restaurant.

Survivors are his wife, Shamane Allen Brown, Salisbury; son Travion Lamar Heggins, Salisbury; mother Betty Brown of the home; brothers, Richard Howell (Orgea), Salisbury; Douglas Howell, Portsmouth, Va., and Reginald Woods (Jackie), Rosedale, NY; sisters Ann Robb (Steve) and Audrey Bickley (James), both of Salisbury; paternal grandmother Rosina Howell, Salisbury; maternal grandparents, Rev. Willie and Chris Ellis, Salisbury; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. A service was held on Monday, July 2, 2007 at Mount Zion Baptist Church with Bishop Kevin Bost officiating.
