Mrs. Barbara Jean "Bob" Jackson Johnson, age 72 of 159 Mount Clair Drive, Lexington, died, Monday, September 21, 2009 at her residence. She was born April 29, 1937 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina to the late Arthur James Jackson, Sr., and Dessie Mae Burch Jackson. In addition to her parent's, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Giles Henry Johnson (Veteran), whom she was married to for over 48 years; and brothers, Jene O. Burch and Joe Nathan Jackson. She was educated in the public schools of Rowan County. She attended New Hope A.M.E. Zion Church, Salisbury. She was previously employed with Burlington Furniture.

Survivors include; sons, Henry Johnson, Jr., Lexington, NC (in the home), Michael Johnson (Traci), Linwood, NC; Marvin Johnson (Donna), Salisbury, NC; Jeremian Johnson (Michelle), Charlotte, NC, and Mark Johnson, Lexington, NC; daughters, Bonnie Black (Charlie, Jr.), Salisbury, NC; Linda Fay Johnson, Lexington, NC; and Cynthia Johnson-Bush (Roy), Lexington, NC; brother, Arthur James Jackson, Jr., Johnson City, TN; sisters, Jessie Mae Foxx, and Juanita Walker, both of Salisbury, NC; Gelina Camp, Gaffney, SC; and Gladys Alford, Winston-Salem, NC; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2009 at New Hope A.M.E. Zion Church, 12:30 p.m., Rev. Kirk Reid, Pastor, officiating, Rev. James Milton, II, Eulogist. Visitation 12:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Other times the family will receive friends at the home. Burial will follow at the U.S. National Cemetery. Hairston
