Mrs. Betty ("Bet")Anderson Doran, age 73 of 3645 Hickory Place, Salisbury, died, Friday, August 15, 2008 at Rowan Regional Medical Center. She was born in Rowan County to the late Willie ("Red") and Alene Clodfetter Anderson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Doran Brown, brother, Willie James Anderson ("Preacher") and daughter-in-law, Sharon Robertson Doran. She was educated in Rowan-Salisbury Schools and attended Dunbar High School. She retired from Rowan-Salisbury Schools. She was a member of Southern City Tabernacle A.M.E. Zion Church.

Those who remain to cherish her memories are her son, Anthony Doran, East Spencer, brother, Frank Anderson, East Spencer, sisters, Doris Scott, Baltimore, Md., Ada Smith and Lorene Massey both of Salisbury, and a son-in-law, Jerry Brown, Salisbury.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. at Southern City Tabernacle A.M.E. Zion Church, on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 with Rev. Thomas Lee, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation-1:30 p.m. at the church prior to the service. At other times, the family will receive friends at 3645 Hickory Place, Salisbury.
