Mr. Carlton Stevenson, age 69 of 2065 Creston St., Bronx, NY, died, Tursday, August 27, 2009 at his residence. He was born March 28, 2009 in Rowan County. He was the son of the late Robert and Edith Roam Stevenson.

He was a graduate of R. A. Clement High School, Cleveland, NC. He retired as a truck driver and chauffeur.

Previously, he attended Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church, Cleveland, NC.

Mr. Stevenson was a Veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors includ his wife, Retha Stevenson, Bronx, NY; step-son, Lee McDowell, Columbia, SC; daughter, Tiffany Stevenson, Bronx, NY; brothers, Harry L. Stevenson (Bertha), Greensboro, NC, and Arnold George, Durham, NC; sisters, Yvonne S. Edwards and Daisy Litaker (Roy) both of Salisbury, Geneva Stevenson, Brooklyn, NY, and Phyllis Imes (Jerry), Statesville, NC; one grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m., and visitation 11:00 a.m.,Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church with Reverend Olin Bruner, officiating. Burial will be at the United States National Cemetery with military rites by the Honor Guard.
