Claude Edward Gillespie

Mr. Claude Edward Gillespie known as "Yogi and Boo Boo", age 55 of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away from this life on, Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC.     He was born June 29, 1965 in Salisbury, NC to the late Peggy Mitchell Holmes and Sylvester Williams.     Mr. Gillespie attended school in Rowan County.  He worked in construction in earlier years.  He never met a stranger and always greeted others with a smile.

He loved his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, James Gillespie, sisters, Sylvia Boger and Deborah Gillespie Correll. Mr. Gillespie leaves to cherish his memories, three brothers, Melvin Mitchell, Salisbury, NC; Jack (Lavila) Mitchell, Eric Mitchell, both of Spencer, NC, brother-in-law, Benny Boger, Spencer, NC, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family and friends.

Memorial Service:  Wednesday, June 30, 2021-1:00 p.m. Hairston Funeral Home, 702 S. Main St., Salisbury, NC.  Elder Charles E. Susong, eulogist.
