Daniel Lee Mixon, Jr.

Mr. Daniel Lee Mixon, Jr., age 73 passed on, Monday, January 11, 2021 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, Salisbury.  He was born on July 17, 1947 to the late, Daniel Lee Mixon, Sr., and Lorida Jones Mixon.  He was a high school graduate with two years of college studies.  He retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years years of dedicated and honorable service.  He was last employed at the W.G.(Bille) Hefner VA Medical Center, Salisbury, as a telephone operator.  He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parent's, he is predeceased by a brother, Norris Columbus Mixon.

Those who will forever cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Yvonne N. Mixon of the home, son; Terran Jamon Burrell, Sr. (Tamara), Grovepart, Ohio; daughters; Vakeshia Smith (Manuel), Mobile, Alabama and Stacey Nettles, Mobile, Alabama; brothers; Donald Ivory, and Jimmie Ivory (Evona), all of Mobile Alabama, sisters; Deloris Johnson (Willie), Miami, Florida; Shelia Dinkins and Veronica Jordan, both of Mobile, Alabama; seven brother-in-laws, six sister-in-laws, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at a later date in Mobile, Alabama with burial in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort.
