Mr. Dewitt Morris, age 79 of 425 S. Lee Street, Salisbury, passed, Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Morris was born October 6, 1930 in Hartwell, GA to the late Mack and Sallie Louise Turman Morris.

He was educated in the public schools of Hartwell GA.

Mr. Morris was employed for twenty-nine years with Rowan Mills and sixteen years with Fieldcrest Cannon as a supervisor. He was owner and operator of Morris Wrecking Service.

Those who shall cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy Killian Morris of the home; sons, Nathaniel Alexander (Anita), Elizabethton, TN, Thomas Alexander (Dorothy), Salisbury, NC and grandson, Basil A. Baker of the home; brothers, Dickey Adam Eberhart (Helen), Salisbury, NC; sisters, Pearl Marks, Cleveland, OH, Juanita Rejel, Brooklyn, NY, Frances Blake and Joyce Eberhart both of Salisbury, NC; nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 1:30 pm and visitation 1:00 pm Monday, December 14, 2009 at Woodleaf Baptist Church, Woodleaf, NC with the pastor, Rev. Christopher Williams, officiating. Burial will be in Rowan Memorial Park, Salisbury.
