Mr. Donnie Ray Lyles, Sr., age 55,died, Tuesday, September 1, 2009. He was born in Salisbury, NC, on November 22, 1953 to the late Ernest and Johnnie Mae Springs. Mr. Lyles attended Dunbar High School and was a Veteran of the US Army. He previously worked with Anderson Siding.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by brothers an sisters, Ronnie Lyles, Ernest Edward Lyles, Jr., Sandra Renee Davis and Daisy Mae Kelly.

Those who shall forever cherish his memory are a wife, Charlotte Lyles, Salisbury, NC; son, Donnie R. Lyles, Jr., Salisbury, NC; daughters, Chrystal Lyles and Litita Williams (Kelvin) both of Salisbury, NC and Skina Burns, New Orleans, LA.; sister, Barbara Taylor, Jean Miller (Arthur) and Carolyn Luther all of Salisbury, NC; aunt, Ollie Woods, Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service (12:30)Tuesday, September 8, 2009. Wake 12:00-12:30 prior to service, at the Chapel, V.A. Medical Center, Salisbury, NC. Elder Donnie Witherspoon, Eulogist and Bishop Willie Rutledge, officiating. Burial will follow in the United States National Cemetery with military rites by the Honor Guard.
