Mrs. Dorothy Wylie Moore, age 67 of 502 S. Clay St., Salisbury, died, Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Rowan Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born in Chester County, SC, on July 13, 1941 to the late John Thomas Wylie, Sr., and Rosezene Cherry Wylie. A sister, Barbara Wylie Cobb and a brother, William White, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Moore was a graduate of Dunbar High School and furthered her education in the field of computer programming, earning certification in data processing. She retired from the Baltimore County Government as a Computer Programmer. She was a member of White Rock AME Zion Church and was a former member of the choir.
Those who remain to reflect on her love and memory are children, Calvin Dennis Wylie, Sr., Salisbury; Deanna Lynne Wylie Miller, Salisbury; Kris Moore Parker (Troy), Granite Quarry; sisters, Ruth Wylie Morrow, Granite Quarry, Julia Wylie Tate, Salisbury; Linda Faye Wylie, Salisbury; Gwendolyn (Diane) Wylie Ellis, Granite Quarry, and Sandra Wylie Lewis (Rev. Roderick Lewis), Charlotte; and brothers; Henry Marion Wylie (Frances), Rock Hill, SC; John Thomas Wylie, Jr., (Victoria), Salisbury, and Kenneth Ray Wylie, Salisbury; seven grandchildren, and one great-grand child.
Service: Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.; at White Rock AME Zion Church with Rev. Roderick Lewis as Eulogist and Rev. William Gullick, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation: Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., Thursday at the church prior to the service. At other times, the family will meet at the home, 502 S. Clay St., Salisbury.
