Mrs. Effie Horne McLean of 285 Rustic Lane, died June 30, 2008 at Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC.

Mrs. McLean was born April 23, 1939 in Alabama to the late William Horne and Jessie Horne Leach. She was educated in the public schools of Rowan County. She was last employed with Chicken Farms Productions.

She previously attended Oak Groe Baptist Church, China Grove, NC.

Survivors are a brother, Dwayne J. Horne, Charlotte, NC; sister, Deborah Ross-Turnbull, Salisbury, NC; a special friend, Cleveland McDougald, Dunn, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside service, Thursday, August 7, 2008, at 11:00 am at the U. S. National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC with Reverend Brenda Williams, Officiating.

The family shall be at the home of the sister, Deborah Ross-Turnbull of 214 South Clay Street, Salisbury, NC.
