Mr. Elijah Abraham "Abe" Witherspoon, age 82 of 411 Livingstone Ave., Salisbury entered into eternal life Saturday April 18, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Witherspoon was born August 8, 1926 in Mobile, AL to the late Pearl Ratchford and William Witherspoon.
He retired from Cone Mills. He also was employed at One Hour Modernizing, Charlotte.
A member of Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Trustee.
Mr. Witherspoon is also preceded in death by a daughter, Dianne Withers and a brother, Jonathan Witherspoon.
Those who shall cherish his memory his wife, Hattie Anthony Witherspoon of the home; sons, Ronnie Anthony, Clinton, NC, Hosea Witherspoon and Aaron Witherspoon (Angela) both of Salisbury, David Witherspoon, Rock Hill, SC; daughters, Sarah Withers, Pamela Tate and Marilyn Black (Larry), Charlotte, fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm and visitation 12:30 pm Friday at Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church, 727 South West St., Salisbury, the Pastor, Pastor Michael Miller, officiating. Burial will in Rowan Memorial Park.
