Elton Streater

Mr. Elton Streater, age 75 of Salisbury, quietly slipped into his eternal rest on, Monday, May 27, 2024 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Chesterfield, South Carolina on May 24, 1949 to the late Major Streater and the late Josie Bell McManus Streater.  He was educated in the public school system of Chesterfied, South Carolina and furthered his education in photography, refrigeration/air conditioning at Rowan Technical College..  He was last employed in trucking services at Terminal Trucking..  He was a member of Solid Rock Church of God, Salisbury, NC, where he served in the deacon ministry.

Elton was a die-hard NASCAR lover.  He enjoyed being with his family, bowling, photography and fishing with his great-grandson, Major.  He will be solely missed by his family who loved him dearly.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his only brother, James Streater.

Those who remain to celebrate his life are his children, Rodney E. Streater (Marla), Andrae W. Alexander (Joyce) and Stephanie Streater. McNeil (William Houston) all of Salisbury.  Sisters; Hattie M. Meyers and Nellie Streater both of Salisbury; one aunt, Rosa Mae Streater, Chesterfield, SC, in-laws, Peggy Streater, Betty Sasser, and Francis Ingram all of Salisbury and Angelia Hunter of Charlotte; 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, special daughter's, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Service: Friday, June 7, 2024 at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, 719 S. Caldwell St. Salisbury, NC. Visitation:  10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.  Funeral begins promptly at 11:00 a.m. Pastor  Samuel A. Washington, officiating/eulogist. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, 393 Rock Springs Church Road, Ruby, South Carolina  29741.

Public viewing at the funeral home, Thursday, 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

At other times, the family will receive friends at his daughter's home located at 211 Brook Stone Way, Granite Quarry, NC  28072.
