Mrs. Emily Arlene Sherrill Venable, age 50 of 2812 North Cannon Blvd., Kannapolis, died, Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Rowan Regional Medical Center. She was born June, 2, 1958 in Mt. Vernon, NY to the late Arthur and Emma Prime Sherrill, Sr. She was a graduate of South Rowan High School and was a homemaker. She attended Sandy Ridge AME Zion Church.

Survivors are husband Steven "Steve" Venable, Sr., of the home; sons, Ricky Sherrill, Sr., Terry Sherrill (Monica), both of Kannapolis, NC, and Charles Sherrill, of Charlotte, NC; step-sons, Antawn Samuels, of Kannapolis, NC Steven Venable, Jr. (kip ki), of Salisbury, NC, and Raymond Venable, of Farrell, PA; brothers, Paul Sherrill (Mona), of New York, Peter Sherrill, of Atlanta, GA, Phillip Sherrill (Stephanie), of Winston-Salem, NC, and Andy Sherrill, of Washington, DC; sisters, Claudia Berry and Christina Williams, both of Gaithersburg, MD; sisters-in-law, kamille Smith, of Farrell, PA. and Kimberly Benson, of Salisbury, NC; 18 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Service will be 2 pm Thursday at sandy Ridge AME Zion Church. Rev. Anthony Freeman officiating. Visitations will be at 1:30 pm. Burial will be in Sandy Ridge AME Zion Church cemetery.
