On Monday, January 24, 2022, Mrs. Eva Mae Troutman Phillips, age 55 quietly slipped away from her earthly cares into the arms of God. She was born in Guilford County on March 16, 1956 to the late William Troutman and Hazel Morrison. She was educated in the public schools of Guilford County and worked many years with the Industry of the Blind in Winston-Salem, NC.
Eva was a loving mother and enjoyed being with her family. She will be solely missed by all who knew her and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Phillips, brother, Willie Troutman and sister, Laura Troutman Eller.
Precious memories remain with her children; Deboyce Troutman of the home, Roosevelt B. Phillips, and Tammy Leonard and Latoya Leonard (Dee) all of Fayetteville; brothers; Alvin Troutman, and William Troutman (Mary) all of Salisbury; James Troutman, California, and George Troutman, Georgia and a sister, Mary Houston of Salisbury; a host of nieces, nephews, additional connected families and friends.
Service: Saturday, February 5, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at Hairston Funeral Home, 703 S. Main. St. Rev. Tamica L. Robinson, Pastor-Marable AME Zion Church, eulogist. Please contact the family regarding attendance to the service as seating is limited.
Public walk through on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.at the funeral home. Masks and social distancing required at both the service and visitation.
Burial: Monday, February 7, 2022 at Oakwood Cemetery.
