Ms. Garmai Wenwu Howard, age 80 of Salisbury, passed Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, Salisbury. She was born on March 12, 1941 in Liberia, West Africa to the late, Pewu Semowee Howard and Klubo Sewu Howard. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Rowan International Church, Salisbury. She was a kind, supportive and loving mother and grandmother.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are her loving daughters; Younger Woods, Salisbury, Korlu Roberts Clark (Darper), Philadelphia, Pa.; Tete Roberts, Minnesota, and Fatu Howard, Atlanta, Ga., 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Service: Saturday, August 28, 2021-Rowan International Church, 1709 N. Lee St., Salisbury, NC. Visitation:10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.. Funeral begins promptly at 11:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, 2011 Old Wilkesboro Road, Salisbury, NC.
Extended family and friends will be greeted at the church. There is no public viewing.
Masks are required for attendance and social distancing. Hairston Funeral Home will adhere to the CDC requirements and the North Carolina's mandates/recommendations for mask wearing inside public places. It is our desire to maintain a safe environment for everyone. Hand sanitizer and masks will be available at the church.
