Gene Autry Davis, Sr.

Mr. Gene A. Davis, Sr., of Granite Quarry, NC passed, Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. He was born on August 23, 1939 in Belews Creek, NC to the late Zebede Davis and Narnie Warren. He was a graduate of Dunbar High School and previously worked as a machine operator at Cone Mills.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Davis.

Precious memories remain with his children, Gene A. Davis, Jr., Bryan O. Davis, Sharon Davis (Clifford) Wood, Audrey Davis and Crystal L. Miller; brother, John (Eva) Davis, 23 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Service: Saturday, November 4, 2023, White Rock A.M.E. Zion Church, 785 White Rock Ave., Granite Quarry, NC, Rev. Thomas Lee, pastor.  Elder, Gene A. Davis, Jr., eulogist. Visitation: 12:00 p.m.-1::00 p.m. Funeral begins promptly at 1:00 p.m.. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at the home of his daughter, Audrey Davis, 1339 Tabernacle St., Salisbury.

Public viewing, Friday, November 3, 2023 from 2-5 at the funeral home.  MASK required.
