Mr. George Melvin McGee, Jr. of 2308 Catalina Ave., Charlotte entered into eternal life on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Carolina Medical Center Main., Charlotte, NC.

Mr. McGee was born June 16, 1959 in Salisbury to Bessie Ruth Henry McGee and George Melvin McGee, Sr.

George was a graduate of Salisbury High School. He was owner and operator of Integrity Town Car Services. In the early 1980's, George was loved and very popular and went by the name of "D J Melly Mel" in Yonkers, NY.

He was a former member of the United House of Prayer for All People in Salisbury and North Charlotte. Currently, he was a member of the United House of Prayer for All People in Huntersville. He was very active with the band having played in Salisbury with the Madison's Angels and the Bailey Praise band in Huntersville. George was previously married to Gail McGee.

Those who preceded him in death are a brother, Franco "Botchie" Corpening and a granddaughter, Shekinah Leach.

Those who shall forever cherish his memory are sons, Marcus Jackson (Nicole), Pineville, GA, George M. McGee, III, Salisbury, NC and Corey P. Cash (Wionna), Columbia, SC; daughters, Margie Leach and Melanie Height both of Salisbury, NC; mother, Bessie Henry McGee, Spencer, NC; father, George Melvin McGee,Sr. (Doris) Salisbury, NC; brothers, Tony Lane McGee, Salisbury, NC, Mark Anthony McGee, Yonkers, NY and Maurice McCullough, Stamford, CT; sisters, Valerie McMiller, Spencer, NC, Paulette McGee Steele (Gary), Charlotte, NC, Pamela McGee, Salisbury, NC, Patricia Morris (Michael) and Sharonda McGee both of Charlotte, NC, Tammy McGee Jones (James), Asheville, NC, Donisha McGee, Portchester, NY, Foyle McGee, Norwalk, CT and Queenie McCullough, Stamford, CT; seven grandchildren, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be at 5:00 pm and visitation at 4:00 pm Sunday, July 26, 2009, at the United House of Prayer for All People, 1223 East Sugar Creek Rd., Charlotte, NC with Elder L. Reynolds, officiating and Apostle G. W. McGee, Eulogist. Burial will be Monday, July 27, 2009, at 1:00 pm in Oakwood Cemetery, Salisbury.
