Mr. George Pierce, Jr., age 82 of Lexington, passed, Friday, January 11, 2019 at the VA Hospital, Salisbury.  He was born in Ethel, West Virginia to the late George Pierce, Sr., and Laura Vance Pierce.  He attended the public schools of Sullivan West Virginia.  He was last employed as a Plater in the area of manufacturing.  He was an honorable discharged veteran of the Marine Corps and US Army.  

In addition to his parent's, siblings, Linda George, Kenneth Pierce, Melvin Pierce and James Pierce preceded him in death.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his sisters, Drema Wallace, Lexington, NC., Barbara Lilly, Jefferson, NC, and Thelma Pierce, Lexington, NC; a brother, Richard Pierce, Poplar Bluff, Ms., a host of nieces, cousins and friends.

A committal  service will be held at the Salisbury US National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., with military rites.  The family will assemble at Hairston Funeral Home, Inc., at 1:00 p.m.prior to the committal service.
