J. C. Cowan Obituary

"In Loving Memory"

"In Loving Memory" of J.C. Cowan, also known by his family and friends as "J, departed this life in Texas on May 3rd, 2022 to join our heavenly father. He was born on March 8, 1954 to the late Floree and Harry Cowan Sr. He was preceded in death and joined his parents, sister Alberta, brothers Avery and Larry Cowan, grandparents Alberta and Abraham Lowes, nieces,Tyasia Hall and Michelle Cowan, Uncles David, Abraham, James, and Nathan Lyles, J.C and his favorite Uncle Walt and Aunt Peachy.

He leaves to cherish his memories, sister Martha Cowan (fiancé James Alexander), brother Harry (Bertha) Cowan, a host of nieces, nephews, Natasha, Keith,  Robert,  Patricia, Avery, Nicole, and Deborah Cowan, Ebony Smith, Stephanie Perry, Tilibra Hall and Andeia  Figuera. His nieces and nephews will miss him dearly and continue to celebrate his life. He will be remembered as an ambitious and heroic soldier who joined the army at the young age of 18, and was overjoyed to protect and serve his Country. He carried the same stature when it came to protecting,  loving his family, and will always be remembered as a wonderful and corky brother who loved to dance. He adored music and would often do the "Click Clack" to his favorite song, "Do it Until You're Satisfied” which would turn heads and put a smile on everybody's face that was watching. The love and light that he would carry into any room is how he will be remembered by all. The passage Psalms 23 reminds us of the passage into the Lord's house and how glorious it is.

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever."- Psalms 23.
