Mr. James R. Allison, Sr., 86, of Forney Street, Salisbury passed Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 at Novant Rowan Medical Center. Mr. Allison was born Dec. 21, 1928 in Rowan County to the late Nelson and Lilly Reid Allison. He received his education in the public schools of Rowan County. He previously worked for the city of Charlotte. Mr. Allison was a member of God's Tabernacle for Believers, Rockwell. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Heilig Brown Allison of Salisbury; son, James Allison, Jr., of Salisbury; daughters, Joann Allison, Ruby Mae Allison Fortune (Edward), Lisa Allison Jenkins (Harvey), Carla Allison Chapman (Anthony) and Sylvia Allison all of Salisbury; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Price; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services: Visitation will be at 12 noon, Monday, Oct. 12, 2015 with funeral services following at 12:30 p.m. at God's Tabernacle for Believers, 304 West Main Street, Rockwell, NC with Rev. Calvin Cowan, Eulogist; and Pastor, Rev. Reginald McConneaughey officiating.
