Mr. James Edward "J.B." Brown, age 55, of 505 Oakwood Dr., Spencer, NC died Friday, Sept. 7, 207 at Rowan Regional Medical Center. He was born August 6, 1952 in Salisbury, NC to the late Price and Sallie Bullock Brown, Sr.. He was a graduate of Salisbury High School and Catawba College. He played on the basketball Team at Catawba. In 2005, he was inducted into the Catawba Hall of Fame. He was employed at U.S. Air. He former assistant basketball coach at Davidson College and University of Florida at Gainesville, FL. He also worked at xerox in Tampa and Orlando, FL. He was previously employed at the Port Authority, Tampa FL and with the Greensboro Sports and Tourism, Greensboro, NC. Survivors are a daughter, Gabryanna s. Johnson, Brandon, FL; brothers, Ernest Brown (Mable) Colorado Springs, FL and Price Brown, Jr. (Consella), Salisbury, NC; sisters, Mary Ann Nimley, Salisbury, NC, Shirley Godsey (William), Cheverly, MD and Betty Jo Brown, Spencer, NC; a host of neices, nephews, cousins and friends. Services at 12:30 pm Wednesday at Omwake Dearborn Chapel, Catawba College. Visitation at 11:30 am at the chapel. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.
