Mr. Jerry Darnell "J. D." Henderson age 55 of 1512 North Shaver St. Salisbury, NC went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Rowan Regional Medical Center. He was born June 1, 1955 to Elmira Patterson Henderson and the late John M. "johnny" Henderson. Mr. Henderson was a graduate of Salisbury High School class of 1971 and Rowan Cabbarus Community College having received a Associate's Degree in Electronics. He was employed at the W.G. "Bill" Hefner Medical Center. He was a member of Southern City Tabernacle AME Zion Church and a veteran of the US Army and Army reserves.

Survivors are his wife, Bridget Grier Henderson of the home; daughter, Delphia Henderson of the home; step son, Emmanuel Watson, Shelby, NC; mother, Elmira Patterson Henderson, Salisbury, NC; brothers, Joseph "Joe" Henderson, Salisbury, NC and Jeffrey W. Henderson (Adriene), Winston-Salem, NC; sister Delphia H. Jefferies (Romus), Salisbury, NC; step granddaughter, Destiny Watson, Shelby, NC; aunt, Jonnye M. Camp, East Spencer, NC; uncle, William "Billy" Henderson, Salisbury, NC; special cousin, Leon Gaither, III, Salisbury, NC; mother-in-law, Naomi Grier, Concord, NC; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ada Grier (Mannix) Brooks, Concord, NC, Gwendolyn Grier Davis (Amuri), Fayetteville, NC, John D. Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 11:30 am and visitation at 10:30 am at Southern City Tabernacle AME Zion Church with the Pastor, Rev. Thomas Lee, officiating. Burial with Military rites will be in the US National cemetery
