Mr. Jerry Asberry Rhodes, Sr., of 1017 Bringle Ferry Rd., Salisbury passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009 in High Point, NC.

Mr. Rhodes was born May 6, 1937 in Davie County to the late Henry and Bertha Ratchford Rhodes.

He was educated in the public schools of Davie County. He retired from Cone Mills after 37 years of service.

Previously, Mr. Rhodes attended the Church of the Word of God, Spencer, NC.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.

Those who shall cherish his memory are his wife, Katherine J. Rhodes, Salisbury; sons, Jerry A. Rhodes, Jr., (Tonya), High Point, NC, Aaron B. Jefferies, GA and Lonnie A. Rhodes (Essie), Salisbury; daughters, Beverly Rhodes Shaunfied (Thomas), High Point; Kia A. Rankin and Minister Tracy Jefferies Quillian (Anthony) both of Salisbury; sister, Ora Mae Mitchell (Wayne), East Spencer; eighteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; nieces reared in the home, Kay Frances (Pastor Richard) Chambers, Salisbury and Martha Ann Koontz, NY, NY; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A long time cherished friend, Ruby B. Allison of Salisbury.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 pm with visitation at 1:30 pm at Love Christian Center, East Spencer with the Rev. Willie Heilig, officiating and Pastor Richard Chambers, Eulogist. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
