Mr. Jerry Odell Sloan, age 33, of Salisbury, passed away, Friday, October 9, 2009 at Carolina Medical Center-Main, Charlotte, NC.

Jerry was born July 2, 1976 in Salisbury to Bishop Carolyn Koontz Archie (Evangelist Robert ARchie) and the late Jerry Odell Sloan, Sr.

He attended North Rowan High School and Rowan Cabarrus Community College.

He was a member of Higher Ground Christian Ministries where was a member of the Security team and Sound Ministry.

Those who shall cherish his memory are his wife, Tawanna Barbour Sloan of the home; daughters, Ashlee Sloan and Jazmine Sloan both of the home; parents, Bishop Carolyn and Evangelist Robert Archie of Salisbury; brothers, Samuel C. Sloan (Shawnette) and Gary D. Sloan (Michelle) both of Salisbury and Derrick Davis (Betina), Anchorage, AL; sisters, Kimberly Sloan-Lee (Jackie), Mooresville, Sonya Armstrong (Gregory), Baltimore, MD and Crystal Pittman, Commerce, GA; great grandmother, Cherry Jones, Salisbury; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm and visitation 1:30 pm Thursday at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, Salisbury with Rev. Brenda Geter, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of the parents, Bishop Carolyn and Evangelist Robert Archie of 707 Bringle Ferry Rd., Salisbury.
