Ms. Joann "Jo" Campbell, age 51, of 1131 Barbour Street, Salisbury passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at the Brian Health and rehabilation Center, Salisbury.

Ms. Campbell was born July 30, 1958 in Salisbury to Zella Mae Cowan Miller and the late James Campbell.

She was a graduate of North Rowan High School and previously employed at the NC Lutheran Nursing Home.

Ms. Campbell was a member of Southern City Tabernacle AME Zion Church.

In addition to her father, she is also preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Cowan and a uncle, Robert Cowan.

Those who shall forever cherish her memory are sons, John Campbell, Spencer and Chad Campbell of the home; mother, Zella Mae Cowan Miller, Salisbury; sisters, Terri Cowan, Hazel Cowan and Traci Fox all of Salisbury; aunts, Pastor Sadie Campbell (Jerry), Mae Lois White, Mildred Booker (Roosevelt) and Mary Cotton all of Statesville, Sadie Ramseur, Mooresville and Josephine Cowan, Salisbury; an uncle Robert Lewis Cowan, Eas Spencer, and special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 21, 2009 at 2:30 pm and visitation at 2:00 pm with the Pastor, Rev. Thomas Lee, officiating. Burial will follow in Moore's Chapel AME Zion Church Cemetery, Cleveland, NC.

The family shall be meeting at the home of the mother, Zelda Mae Cowan Miller of 1041 Short Street, Salisbury.
