Mr. Joe Nelson Crosby, age 66 of Salisbury, quietly passed, Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the Veterans State Home, Salisbury. He was born in Gaston County on, July 4, 1957 to the late Arthur Crosby and the late Gussie Reid, raised in the Belmont/Mt. Holly area.. He was educated in the public schools of Gaston County and graduated from Belmont High School.. Upon graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served dutifully as a SP5 Sgt., Traffic Management Coordinator and Cannon Crewman. He received many awards as a sharpshooter. After serving in the military honorably, he worked as a Truck Driver for Freight Liner, Mt. Holly plant until he retired after 30 years. He previously attended New Destiny Worship Center in Gastonia, North Carolina where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was faithful and loved the Lord. .
Joe was a kind, affectionate person who was always quiet and had a pleasant personality. He will be truly missed by so many. He was devoted to his wife, children and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Darion Jackson and a brother Johnnie Crosby.
Those who will forever cherish fond memories of Joe are his loving wife, Teresa Owens Crosby of the home, children; Franco Crosby, Gastonia, North Carolina; Andrian Crosby, (Jessica), Kentucky, Shea Crosby (Delshon), Gastonia North Carolina; Angel Crosby (Rod), Baltimore, Maryland; Jessica Crosby, Gastonia North Carolina; Leonard Owens, El Paso, Texas, Machia Gray, (Zelle), Halifax, North Carolina; Thomasina Owens, Salisbury, North Carolina and Chanel Allen (David), Thomasville, North Carolina; brothers, Bobby Crosby, Colorado and Ricky Crosby, Gastonia, North Carolina; sisters, Bertha Hart (Sherman), Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Edith Crosby, Gastonia, North Carolina. 21 grandchildren, a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Joe will be memorialized with military honors at 10:00 a.m. on, Friday, July 12, 2024 at the US National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC. Rev. F.L. Clark will provide the words of comfort.
