Joe L Ellis

Mr. Joe L. Ellis age, 85, of Woodleaf, NC passed, Friday, February 28, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  He was the oldest of seven sons, born in Rowan County on April 1, 1939 to the late Robert Ellis, Sr. and the late Norvia Williams.  He was a high school graduate and was last employed with Kosa as a machine operator.  

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by children, Joe Loouis Ellis, Jr., and Claudia Ellis and granddaughter, Torsha Ellis.

Those who remain to cherish fond memories are his devoted wife, Annie Ellis of the home; children, Robert Ellis, Statesville, Tony R. Miller, South Carolina and Avis Ellis, Salisbury.  Step-children; James O. Turner, Mooresville, Timothy Turner, Woodleaf and Patricia Little (William), Woodleaf; brothers; William Ellis, John Ellis, Larry Ellis all of Salisbury; 24 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and dear friends.

Service:  March 7, 2025-Gethsemane Baptist Church, 719 S. Caldwell St., Salisbury, Rev. Dr. Roy L. Dennis Jr., pastor, Pastor Tony Smith, eulogist.  Visitation: 12:30-1:00. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Salisbury-2:30.
