Mr. John Francis Jackson,age 80, affectionately called "Johnny", of 160 Geter Rd., Woodleaf, NC died Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at the W. G. "Bill" Hefner V. A. Medical Center, Salisbury. He was born June 24, 1928 in Rowan County to the late Illinois and Lena Elder Jackson.

Mr. Jackson was educated in the public schools of Rowan County. He retired from the W. G. "Bill" Hefner V. A. Medical Center.

He was a dedicated and faithful member of Boxwood Baptist Church, Mocksville, NC. He served as a Deacon and was Chairman of the Deacon Board. He also served as superintendent of the Sunday School and other organizations. He served in these capacities until his health began to fail.

Those who shall forever cherish his memory are his wife, Agnes Gregory Jackson of the home; son, Marciano Jackson, Mocksville, NC; brother, Richard Adam Jackson (Julia), Winston-Salem, NC; two granddaughters, Nichole P. Jackson, Greenville, NC and Angelica Jackson, St. Louis, MO; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at 12:30pm at Boxwood Baptist Church, Mocksville. visitation will be from 12:00 pm till 12:30 pm at the church. Military Rites and interment will be at the U. S. National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.
