Mr. Leroy Ellis, Sr., 75, of 3425 Hickory Place, Spencer Forest Community, Salisbury, NC died Thursday at Magnolia Gardens, Salisbury, NC. He was the son of late David "Bub" Ellis and the late Alice Wilson Ellis Robinson. He was a graduate of Dunbar High School and retired from Duke Energy as a Supervisor.

Mr. Ellis was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was also a member of J. C. Price American Legion Post #107, Elks Lodge and the Toaster Club.

He was also a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, East Spencer, NC.

In addition to his parents, those who preceded him in death were two grandchildren, Nathaniel Gibson, Jr. and Lavonda Gibson; three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Elfrances Pharr Ellis of the home; sons, Dr. Walter Lee Ellis, Salisbury, NC, Nelson A. Ellis, Baltimore, MD and Kenny D. Ellis of the home; daughters, Veronica Williams, NY, NY; Deborah J. Gibson and Geraldine Ellis both of Salisbury, NC; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11:30 am with the visitation at 11:00 am at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Pastor, Reverend Alonza Williams, Officiating. Burial with military rites will be conducted by the Salisbury Honor at the U. S. National Cemetery.
