Mr. Lester "Les" Rollings, age 87, of 111 East Broad Street, East Spencer, NC died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Rollings was born May 27, 1920 in Lancaster, SC to the late Irene Perry and Poteat Truesdale.

He was educated in the public schools of Lancaster, SC. He retired from the Southern Railway and Hoechst Celeanse Operations.

He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army. He was a member of the Boilmakers and Ship Builders Union.

Survivors are his wife, Josephine Pledger Rollings of the home; son, Ronnie Rollings, Sr. (Shelia), East Spencer, NC; daughters, Eulester Williams (Therome), Endicott, NY and Joanne Harris (Harry), Berera, OH; sister, Lonzenia Robinson, Washington, DC; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be 12:30 pm Monday, July 30, 2007 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Pastor, Reverend Alonza Williams, Officiating; vistiation at 12:00 pm burial in the U. S. National Cemetery, Brenner Ave., Salibury, NC with Military Rites by the Salisbury Rowan Honor Guard.
