Mrs. Louvenia Ledbetter Chambers, age 95, of 2603 Melchor Ave., Kannapolis, NC died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008 at the NC Lutheran Nursing Home.
She was born February 19, 1913 in Anson County. She was the daughter of the late Spencer and Lula Chambers Ledbetter.
She was educated to the public schools of Anson Co. She retired from Fieldcrest Cannon.
Mrs. Chambers was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC where she was a member of the Missionary Circle, Hymn Choir and the Home Demonstration Club.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Will Chambers.
Survivors are sons, Willie Junior Chambers (Marie Little), Kannapolis, NC and Artis Chambers, Queens, NY; daughters, Hattie Louse Chambers Caldwell (C. Eugene)and Martha Chambers Cowan both of Kannapolis, NC; sisters, Priscilla Chambers, Charlotte, NC and Mae Frances Walker, Upper Marlboro, MD; sister-in-law, Ellen Gaddy, Charlotte, NC and brother-in-law, Armond Gaddy, Charlotte, NC; twenty one grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
Funeral Tuesday, 11:30 am at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC with the Pastor,Rev. Steven E. Boyd, officiating. Visitation at 11:00 am prior to the funeral. Burial in the Meltonsville Baptist Church, Anson County.
