Mable Magalene PerkinsBurns( July 03, 1929 - September 10, 2020 )In the early morning of September 9, 2020, the Lord called our belovedMable home. Mable Magalene PerkinsBurns was born on July 3, 1929, inSouth Carolina. She was preceded indeath by her father, Hubert “Hub”Hunter; mother, Cory Hunter; husbands, Myron Perkins, Sr., and William“Bill” Burns; sisters, Ida Jane Hargrave and Nancy Hunter; brothers,Albert Hunter, Jim Hunter, Dan Hunter, Calvin Hunter, and Oscar Hunter;son, Gary R. Perkins; grandson, Rashad Bannister; and granddaughter,LaToya Hairston.
Mable graduated from Lewis-Gale Nursing School in the 60's and thenworked at Friendship Manor Nursing Home for over 40 years; she lovedserving and taking care of others. She was a member of Hill StreetBaptistChurch for over 50 years, before she became ill, where she was amember of the Usher Board. She enjoyed working on puzzles,crosswords, baking, planting flowers, and working in her yard.
Those left to cherish her memories are her son, Myron “Moose” Perkinsof Roanoke, VA; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Perkins of Tampa, FL;grandchildren, Daryl of Roanoke, VA, Deshawna of Orlando, FL, Marcusof Tampa, FL, and Erica of St. Petersburg, FL; sisters, JoAnn Hunter ofRoanoke, VA and Estelle Saltess of Roanoke, VA; brothers, BernardHunter of East Spencer, NC and Alonzo Hunter of East Spencer, NC;nine great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, other relatives, andfriends.Funeral services will be held privately at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home &Crematory.
