Mrs. Margaret Caldwell Carr, 71, of 13030 Statesville Blvd., Cleveland, NC died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, NC. She was born May 26, 1936 in Mooresville, NC to the late Roy E. and Mary Phifer Caldwell. Mrs. Carr was a graduate of Dunbar High School, Mooresville, NC and Livingstone College.

She retired after 33 years of meritorious service in education, having taught in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System and Salisbury City Schools. She taught at Overton Elementary, Wiley School and Monroe Street School. While at Wiley and Overton, she was nominated as Teacher of the Year by her peers.

A faithful member of Allen Temple Presbyterian Church, Cleveland,she served as a Sunday School Teacher, tutor for adults and children, Bible School Leader, moderator of Presbyterian Women's Organization, Elder, Clerk of Session and director of True Music for Youth. She was also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the NC Retired Educators Association.

She also preceded in death by her husband, Roy P. Carr, march 7, 2007 and a brother, Frank E. Caldwell.

Survivors are a daughter, Lori Carr Henderson (James), Clayton, NC; sisters, Betty Gill, Mooresville, NC, Lucille C. Turner, Charlotte, NC and Daisy C. Knox, Bridgeport, CT; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 29, 2008 and visitation at 12:00 pm at Allen Temple Presbyterian Church, with pastor, Rev. J. C. Byers, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
