Mary Luther Obituary

Mrs. Mary James Luther, age 86 quietly returned unto God on the morning of, Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Compass Health Care and Rehabilitation, Spencer, NC.  She was born in Lake City, South Carolina on March 3, 1935 to the late Holly James and Idella Rogers James.  She was educated in the public schools of Lake City, South Carolina.  Mrs. Luther enjoyed a fruitful working career with Frito Lay, where she retired.

Mrs. Luther was a faithful member of Thomas St. Church of Christ until her health began to fail.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Cherished memories remain with her sons, Jesse Luther, Salisbury, NC and Clifford Luther (Diane), Fayetteville, NC; loving grandchildren, Cera Luther, Jermaine Luther, Jessica Manning, Niki John (Patrick), Mary Luther, Charleen Luther, Jessica Luther and Brandi Luther; great-grandchildren; Lyric Luther, Trinity McCormick, Mariah (Rylee) Krider, Nicholas John, Lucas John, Grace Thompson, Judeaus Thompson, Damien Bibbs, Bella Luther and, Clifford Luther, III; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Service:  Saturday, November 27, 2021, Thomas St. Church of Christ, 700 W. Thomas St., Salisbury, NC.  Visitation:1:30. Funeral: 2:00 Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.  Brother Phillip Thompson, Pastor.  Brother William Latten, Eulogist.
